Student Care

A key aspect to our success is happy students. NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy places an extremely strong emphasis on student care, understanding the link between successful learning and an agreeable after hours environment.

Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners

NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy has agreed to observe and be bound by the NZ Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021: click here

Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance if required.

Class numbers are small with an Instructor/Student ratio of 1:15 and in addition one-on-one tutoring is offered to any students requiring extra tuition. These aspects support learning and provide the opportunity for staff to identify issues outside the training environment which may be impacting on learning.

Student Management

At NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy we take our pastoral care responsibility seriously. Accordingly, we have an experienced Student Support team including a Pastoral Care Officer dedicated to providing in-country emotional and practical support, both on-site to provide administrative support, and in the field to ensure students are supported outside of the formal learning environment.

We also ensure there is both academic and social support to help all students who are living away from home for the first time.

We support students to develop the daily routines, and the social and practical skills needed to successfully study and live independently.

There are various student activities outside course hours to help you integrate well into New Zealand society and enjoy your stay.

Students have 24 hour emergency telephone support and we ensure a personal response should the need arise.

NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy immediately reports to parents/guardians and relevant NZ authorities if we judge a student to be at risk or if they are involved in any incident. We also provide direct support where necessary.

Counseling Service

We also provide access to a counseling service should that need arise - Details are provided in the Student Handbook.
