Our AirportThe Whanganui Airport is our primary base of operations. The Part 139 airport providing full lighting and instrument flight rules (IFR) facilities; including, a non-directional beacon (NDB), distance measuring equipment (DME) and area navigation (RNAV) options together with a large 1472m x 45m sealed runway and four grass runways ranging from 500 to 912 metres. Pilot activated lighting (PAL) runway lights are also provided. The airport infrastructure provides all the necessary facilities to enable full training opportunities for the programmes being delivered.The Manawatu – Whanganui region is one of the best places to conduct flying training anywhere in the world. You will experience real-world weather and terrain and be well prepared for an international career. We have ready access to open airspace for air exercises, controlled airspace to learn procedures, and the spectrum of navigation aids, including; the ILS (NZOH), VOR (NZPM), NDB (NZWU), and RNAV instrument approaches. You will not need to spend valuable time transiting to a training area. |
