New Zealand International Commercial Pilot Academy - Learn to Fly in New Zealand

Domestic Student Application

 

Along with an Application Form, the student must:

  • Complete the ADAPT Online Prescreening Tool (www.nzskillsconnect.co.nz)
  • Pass the NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy Entry Test for the relevant course
  • Undertake and complete a personal selection interview (possibly via internet)
  • Present an essay on why you want to be a pilot

 

The selection staff will review all information presented, and evaluate the application letter, and the results and outcomes of the tests and interviews.

 

Application Process

Domestic students wishing to enroll will do so by completing the Domestic Student Application Form and scan completed form with related documentation to enquiries@nzicpa.nz for consideration.

Selection Process

Students will only be accepted for selection after satisfying the applicable eligibility criteria for the course they are seeking to enter.

Acceptance

Where the number of applicants exceeds the number of places available on a programme, a panel including the Chief Flying Instructor and Head of Training will be used for selection of applicants taking into consideration academic achievements, references, interview and testing results.

On acceptance an offer of place will be provided to the student.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students wishing for acknowledgement of prior learning are to apply to the Chief Flying Instructor for approval of flying hours, credit transfer from existing licences or ratings, cross credit from other NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy Limited training or accelerated progress in the intended training area.  Appropriate evidence is to be submitted.

The Chief Flying Instructor in conjunction with the Operations Director will assess the qualifications the student has for cross crediting to Unit Standards.

Training flying hours will be assessed by the CFI in accordance with CAA Rule Part 61 – Subpart D/E.

On approval the CFI will complete the necessary documentation.
