Course Prices

NZ International Commercial Pilot Academy is one of the most cost effective aviation training providers in New Zealand and is conscious of the need to provide value for money.

Costs

All programmes are priced annually.

We recognise previous flying experience and course costs can differ for each pilot.  Please contact us for a personal quote.

Study Resources

Dependent upon the subject(s) you choose to study, you will be provided with some or all of the following resources.  These resources are included within your course fees.

  • A full set of Commercial Pilot Licence theory manuals
  • A full set of Instrument Rating theory manuals
  • The AIP Planning Manual, Visual Flight Guide and Instrument Flight Guide
  • Maps and Charts
  • A Navigation Computer
  • A Ruler and Protractor

Uniform including jacket, shirts, epaulets are provided at  reasonable cost.

Students will be encouraged to purchase the following ancillary equipment:

  • Headset
  • Black trousers
  • Black shoes
  • Black socks

 

Student Loans

You can fund the New Zealand Diploma through the student Loan Scheme - please discuss with us.  Note: there is a shortfall between the course pricing and the maximum student loan amount available. More information on the Student Loan Scheme is contained here.

Fees-Free

The Fees-Free eligibilty scheme could potentially subsidise your studies with a reduction of $12,000 from your Student Loan, if applicable. Information at this link: https://www.feesfree.govt.nz/

Medical

The cost of maintaining a current NZCAA Medical is not part of your course fees and consist of two parts, the Medical examiners fee (Typically from $300 to $600) and the NZCAA fee ($120.75).

Travel Costs

Travel to and from the training is at the student's cost. If you  are a long term student you may wish to purchase a car as this increases your flexibility. The Academy runs three 12-seater Ford Transit vans which can be used to ferry students between the Academy and its student accommodation in central Whanganui.
